Sour, sweet, bitter, spicy

There is a Chinese proverb, "suan tian ku la", defining all the different experiences that the fun and challenges of life bring. Life without all of these "flavours" would be boring, I guess. It is just that I had a bit too much of sour lately, and sure hope there is a huge chocolate in the near future, to bring with it an overdose of sweetness!

Looking forward to March in Beijing, as it is always a cultural month, with lots of cool music and stage events. Already Harlem Hot Shots, a famous swing dance group, are scheduled to perform next month, booked tickets already!

De-stressing in China

There is nothing more enjoyable than a mini facial/body treatment in your own home with The Body Shop products!

My latest acquisitions from Whistler's The Body Shop include:
1. Strawberry Body Polish (the latest promotional product, with kiwi seeds for that gentle scrub)
2. Passion fruit body butter (so, so nice! guys asked if they can eat it, hahaha)
3. Vitamin E Eye Cream (this is the first year I am buying eye cream...)
4. Honey & Oat scrub mask (one of the nicest products for dry skin!)
5. Ylang ylang body cream (an aromatherapy product, smells just like the oils they use in massage places)

Add to that a nice shampoo, and facial cream, and it's a complete relaxation, rejuvenation, destressing, uplifting treatment! Works every time, after a long day, it scrubs the stress away.

Wish The Body Shop can finally open a shop in Beijing. And then I can tatoo their logo on my arm. :)

Money well spent

Thursday nights, RMB 30 gets you 2 hours of salsa dance lessons with Cuban instructors, pizza for half price and a limitless amount of fun at Salsa Caribe! Since Latinos closed down, Salsa is now charging RMB 30 (last year it was RMB 20), as there is no real Latin competitor in town now. Just heard that Big Easy, another legendary institution in Beijing, is also going down, probably to clear more space for a new office tower. Premium location, with a view of the park. ;)

I am enjoying salsa more than I expected. Always considered myself a swing person, as swing is a bit more about steps than rhythm, and that I can handle, but salsa's fun too!

These two dances (or is it all dances?), have something in common:
1. You have to keep your frame
2. For a beginner, as long as you keep counting the steps inside your mind, you'll be ok
3. If you are a follower, LISTEN to your partner

Going to watch Olympics, biathlon is on now!

(Hm, even in skiing, you have to keep your frame, hehe)

A few more hours before Thailand...

...bringing a toothbrush, favorite bikini, In Style Feb 2006 and a smile!

Vote for your new Seven Wonders!

The original Seven Wonders were chosen by one man, but now the people can vote for the New Seven Wonders via the Internet and telephone! 21 finalist wonders have been announced, and the final decision will be announced in Jan 2007.

To take part in the N7W voting, visit www.new7wonders.com

The selection is tough, they are all such nice places, but my vote goes to:

1. Acropolis, Athens, Greece
2. Angkor, Cambodia
3. Alhambra, Granada, Spain
4. Machu Piccu, Peru
5. Petra, Jordan
6. Great Wall, China
7. Easter Island Statues, Chile

We shall see next year!

Good to know that partial revenues raised in the campaign will be used to restore the world's historical sites.
